| The Ottawa Valley’s education system incorporates facilities within four publicly funded school boards. The Renfrew County District School Board is comprised of 27 elementary schools, seven secondary schools and five alternative schools. TheRenfrew County Catholic District School Board provides 20 elementary schools and two secondary schools. Conseil des écoles catholiques de langue française du Centre-Est, and Conseil des écoles publiques de l’Est de l’Ontario each operate an elementary and secondary French language school. Pre-school, academic nursery, kindergarten and Montessori Schools are also available. |

Our Lady Seat of Wisdom Academy in Barry’s Bay offers one, two, and three-year programs in the classical liberal arts at a college level, within the light of the teaching of the Catholic Church. Two major universities in Ottawa, Carleton University and the University of Ottawa, are within 45 km from the eastern boundary of Renfrew County. The University of Ottawa also offers night classes at Algonquin College in Pembroke. |
